
Cisplatin is a chemotherapeutic agent helpful in the treatment of various numbers of cancers including lung, bladder, head and neck, ovarian, and testicular cancers. The combination therapy of cisplatin with other medication is highly considered. Cisplatin was approved and licensed for medical use in 1978 & 1979. It comes in the form of injection under the brand name Platinol. The recommended dose of cisplatin injection for testicular cancer is 20 mg/m2 daily for 5 days per cycle. The commonly reported side effects include nephrotoxicity, myelosuppression, and vomiting.
