Second-Generation Proteasome Inhibitor for Multiple Myeloma

    in Let's Talk Bonsai

Carfilzomib (Carfilnat), specifically is an anti-cancer drug acting as a selective proteasome inhibitor. Chemically, it is mainly a tetrapeptide epoxyketone and an analog of epoxomicin.

is used for the treatment of patients with Multiple Myeloma. It comes as a powder in order to be mixed with liquid to be injected into a vein. Carfilzomib injection is administered by a healthcare practitioner in a medical office or clinic usually over a period of 10 or 30 minutes.

As an antineoplastic agent, it interferes with the growth of cancerous cells, eventually killed by the body.
